Am I over budget on this line?

Being a little over plan on a line is not the same as being over budget, and the difference is a threshold you set. Through Unl the read compares the spend to your tolerance for that line, so the answer is whether you have crossed your own limit — not just the raw number over plan.

Same magnitude of overspend, opposite verdicts, because each line carries its own limit and reason. The read applies them so you do not have to remember which line tolerates what.

Thresholds you can revise

When you decide software should now tolerate four per cent because a new tool bills irregularly, you ratify the change and the read judges against four from then on. The threshold is yours to move, and the verdict always reflects the tolerance you currently hold.
