How do I connect Todoist to Claude?

A personal task manager in Claude sounds small until the first time you ask 'what does my week actually look like?' and get an answer from the real list.

Direct answer: add Todoist over MCP in Claude — Settings → Connectors, authorise; Claude Code takes 'claude mcp add'. Claude then reads your projects, tasks and due dates live. For a personal system the wins are review-shaped: the week ahead, the overdue tail, the project that quietly stopped moving.

The list, interrogated

What is due before Friday, what has been overdue longest, which project gained tasks but lost completions this month — answered from the account rather than reconstructed by scrolling. A weekly review conducted as a conversation takes minutes.

A cap the list won't hold for you

Personal case: you ratified a commitments cap — no more than three active commitments to other people at a time — after a season of being reliably late for everyone. Todoist tracks all the commitments; arithmetic over your integrity is not one of its fields.

The list against the cap

Through Unl the review arrives judged: four live commitments to others — one over the cap you set in January, and the reason was being late for everyone you like. Saying no gets structurally easier when the rule shows up carrying its own receipts.

Todoist in Claude reads your list; through Unl it reads your list against the promises you made yourself about the list — cap met or cap blown, reason attached.

Reads through Unl arrive with measured context — in the presence of the decisions you’ve already settled. The reach lane is live: one box, paste anything. If it speaks MCP, Unl can reach it. Readings arrive unprompted, the data beside the criterion; Unl is a courier, not a warehouse, and keeps only your keys and the frame.

Questions people ask

What does Claude read from Todoist?

Projects, tasks and due dates from your account, live — the working surface of the list, sufficient for reviews, weekly planning and staleness checks.

Is this connection Claude-only?

No — Todoist's MCP surface connects to any MCP client, ChatGPT included. Same server, same steps, different settings menu.

Isn't a commitments cap overkill for a to-do list?

It is exactly the rule most personal systems are missing: lists grow without judgement. One ratified cap with its reason turns every review read into a decision point rather than a scroll.

What this is

Think inside your AI world — you stay in command

Unlimitless (Unl to friends) holds what you've settled, reads what your tools are showing, and catches what's changed out in the world — and hands your AI whatever bears on the work, the moment it's needed, without you asking. The right thing, in front of the model, unprompted, with you in command of the call. So you keep moving toward what you set out to build, on top of everything you've already decided.

It plugs into Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Cursor as an MCP connector. Quick to connect, in a couple of steps.

Unlimitless is open now to invited Alpha. Apply for the Beta waitlist to come in ahead of the full launch:
