What the naked read gives you
A naked read returns task completion by project. Accurate, and it won’t tell you the goal is at risk because one project is the bottleneck, since your goal’s make-or-break isn’t an Asana field.
The frame judges the data it is given; it does not verify the source’s accuracy.
What changes when Asana is read measured
Say you've ratified the quarter’s goal and what drives it: ship the onboarding revamp, which depends on the design and backend projects both landing by week eight.
“Are we on for the goal?” returns, measured: at risk — design is on track, but the backend project is two weeks behind, and it’s the dependency your goal actually hinges on. The lever is backend, not overall task count. Asana supplied the tasks; your ratified goal supplied the roll-up and the reason.

Then the read follows the dependency you ratified and reports it stalled. Asana can see the tasks where they actually are; that the work continued elsewhere under a different project is context you hold. The read names the project it looked at, so a goal is never called at risk without you being able to see what it measured.
