Contentful through Unl reads entries, fields and content types against the publish-readiness criterion you have ratified, so 'can this entry go live' comes back verdict-shaped with the field it's still missing.

What the naked read gives you

Ask Contentful through Unl for the 'Autumn Campaign' landing-page entry and it will return every field, the linked hero image asset, and the content type it's built from. That's an accurate snapshot of the entry. It doesn't know that Editorial requires a filled 'SEO description' field and a linked, published hero asset before anything counts as ready - Contentful reports what's in the fields, not whether the set is complete enough to ship.

The frame judges the data it is given; it does not verify the source’s accuracy.

What changes when Contentful is read measured

Say you run editorial ops, and you've ratified in Unl that a landing-page entry counts as publish-ready only when its SEO description field is non-empty and its linked hero asset is itself in a Published state - the kind of rule you set after a page goes live with a broken draft image.

'Is the Autumn Campaign entry ready to publish?' returns, measured: unmet - the SEO description field is filled, but the linked hero asset is still in Draft, so the second condition fails. Contentful supplied the entry's fields and the asset's status; the ratified rule supplied the two-condition test that turns a field check into a verdict.

And back again

Once the hero asset is published in Contentful, you confirm the change in Unl, and the same 'is this ready to publish' question for that entry returns a met verdict instead of re-checking the same two fields.
