Deel through Unl

A contract tells you the rate. It says nothing about whether that rate respects the ceiling your organisation set for the region it was signed in.

Deel through Unl reads contracts and contractor rates against the rate ceiling you have ratified, so 'is this day rate cleared to sign' comes back not cleared, with the condition it hasn't met.

What the naked read gives you

Deel through Unl will hand you a contractor's day rate in Sao Paulo without hesitation - the figure on the contract, the currency, the assets issued alongside it. All of it correct. The ceiling that rate is meant to respect, though, was set somewhere Deel has never looked, because a contracting platform tracks what was agreed, not what should have been.

The frame judges the data it is given; it does not verify the source’s accuracy.

What changes when Deel is read measured

Your operations director ratified the day-rate ceiling for contractors in Brazil, set to hold margins steady as the team scaled past the first ten hires.

'Is this day rate cleared to sign' returns, measured: not cleared, twelve dollars over the ceiling for that region. Deel supplied the rate; your ratified rule supplied the ceiling.

And back again

Once a rate has been measured against the ceiling, the outcome joins the ceiling itself inside Unl - the region, the role, the ratified number, and what this contractor's rate did against it. The next contract in that region inherits the same standard automatically, with the reasoning intact rather than reconstructed from scratch.

Questions people ask

Why does one contractor's rate come back cleared and another's in the same country does not?

Because the ratified ceiling is set per role as well as per region. Unl reads each contract against the ceiling that matches both, so a senior contractor and a junior one in the same country can return different verdicts even on the same day.

How do I connect Deel to Claude?

Deel's MCP server is documented at developer.deel.com. Connect it through Claude as an MCP client, complete the OAuth2 authorisation Deel requires, and the tools it exposes - contracts, people, time off, assets - become queryable. Unl reads through that same connection.

Does Unl sign contracts or change contractor pay?

Unl reads through Deel, and can write back on your explicit gesture — it never acts as a side effect of a read.
